Heart Shaped Face

Heart Shaped Face: Short hair slicked back at the sides and styled in a quiff at the front emphasises a heart-shaped face, making the most of its delicate proportions. Conceal an extra wide forehead with a light, curly fringe. Alternatively balance a small chin with spiral-curled one-length hair. A heart-shaped face that’s fairly wide at the temples can be disguised by styling hair forwards to cover the temple area. Hair layers are shaped for width and height but styled gently forwards to hide the temples without covering the whole forehead.

Square Face shapes

Square Face shapes: A soft style balances a hard square jaw. Back-comb the hair at the front to add root lift and visually lengthen the square face shape. A short, round-shaped cut, which frames the face and blurs the harsh edges of a square face, making it appear more oval. A textured style is useful for softening a square jaw line, while graduated layers give a wide, fairly high outline that tends to draw attention away from the jaw.

Round Face shapes: If your hair is short, bring tendrils of hair forward onto your face. Balance these with a light, textured fringe which allows your forehead to show through so that you don’t shorten your face. If you have long hair keeping the length through the sides and letter boxing your face shape will have a slimming effect and narrow your face, If you require a fringes try a sweeping asymmetric fringe keeping some of your forehead exposed will also work.

Oily Hair

Oily: Wash your hair less frequently (pick your moment after a colour or when you are on holiday) with a mild shampoo, a strong shampoo clears grease by stripping away natural oils but this will stimulate your glands to step up oil production. Avoid massaging or scrubbing your scalp as this will also stimulate your glands increasing oil production. Use Organic Aqua Boost or Redken Cleansing Cream as this is light on the hair. Only use products that are not oil based so stay away from serum and using dry product like mousse and gels for blow drying and matte texture waxes could be for you.

Dry & Limp Hair

Dry & Limp: Avoid perms and heated styling tools. Condition regularly and use mild shampoos to avoid stripping the hair of moisture. Use Organic Power build or Redken Body Full shampoo to give body and movement to your hair. If hair is very dry use Redken Extreme products which will add protein to strengthen your hair. Mousse and hairspray will allow you to create height and give the illusion of thicker fuller hair.

Dry & Frizzy Hair

Dry & Frizzy: Treat yourself to regular trims to remove dry, frizzy ends. Condition with rich creams and apply leave-in conditioning sprays to help smooth the frizz. Try setting the hair on rollers to help even out the frizz. Avoid using heated styling tools. Instead use moisturising styling products, such as wax and moulding cream to slick the hair into shape.
Use Organic Power build or Redken Smooth Down shampoos to calm down the frizz and give a smoother look. Serums will add shine to your hair and give a smooth finish.
